Material & Care Guide

Taking good care of your jewelry is essential to maintain its appearance and longevity. Here's a guide specifically for silver and stainless steel jewelry with gold plating:

1. Cleaning:
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe your jewelry after each wear to remove any oils and dirt that may have accumulated.
For more thorough cleaning, create a solution of warm water and mild soap. Dip a soft-bristled toothbrush into the solution and gently scrub the jewelry, paying attention to crevices and intricate details. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the gold plating and may scratch the surface of the jewelry.

2. Storage:
Store your jewelry in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Excessive heat and moisture can cause the gold plating to tarnish or wear off over time.
Consider using anti-tarnish pouches or strips to prevent tarnishing.
Store each piece of jewelry separately to prevent scratching and tangling.

3. Avoid exposure to chemicals:
Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or engaging in activities that involve exposure to chemicals such as household cleaners, perfumes, lotions, and hairspray. Chemicals can accelerate tarnishing and damage the gold plating.
If your jewelry comes into contact with any chemicals, promptly rinse it with water and dry it thoroughly.

4. Regular maintenance:
Periodically inspect your jewelry for signs of wear and tear, such as scratches or loose stones. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
If you notice any tarnishing or dullness on the gold plating, you can use a specialized gold polishing cloth to gently buff the surface and restore its shine. Be gentle to avoid rubbing off the gold plating.

5. Professional cleaning and repair:
Consider taking your jewelry to a professional jeweler for periodic cleaning and maintenance, especially if it has intricate designs or delicate settings.

Remember that proper care and maintenance are key to preserving its appearance and value.
